Steps to Delete Your Account and Data

We understand that you may want to delete your account and data permanently. DateShate provides an easy-to-follow process to ensure your request is fulfilled promptly:

  1. Log in to the App

Open the DateShate app on your device and log in using your registered email ID and password.

  1. Navigate to Account Settings

Click on the menu icon in the top-right corner of your screen and select Account Settings from the dropdown options.

  1. Select ‘Delete My Account’

Scroll down to find the option Delete My Account. Tap on this option to proceed.

  1. Submit the Request

A confirmation screen will appear. Once you confirm your request, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

  1. Processing Timeline:

Your account and data will be erased within 7 working days of receiving the request.

  1. Important Note: Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. We recommend backing up any necessary information before initiating the deletion process.

Alternative Methods to Request Data Deletion

If you are unable to delete your data using the app, DateShate provides alternative methods to ensure your request is fulfilled:

DateShate adheres to the following laws and regulations to ensure your data is processed and deleted responsibly:

  1. Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011

This regulation mandates the secure handling, processing, and deletion of sensitive personal data, including passwords, financial information, health data, and biometric details.

  1. Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 (Draft)

Although in draft form, this bill provides comprehensive guidelines for protecting user data, including the right to request data deletion, withdraw consent, and restrict processing.

  1. Indian Contract Act, 1872

Ensures that all users’ acceptance of DateShate’s terms and conditions constitutes a legally binding agreement, providing transparency and accountability in the use of your data.

  1. Information Technology Act, 2000 (Section 43A)

Protects users from unauthorized access to or misuse of personal data and mandates companies to adopt reasonable security practices to prevent data breaches.
